Iron Status Interpreter
Functional iron panel interpretation by population. Detects deficiency stages, anemia of inflammation, and overload patterns. Outputs dosed repletion protocols with cofactors and monitoring schedules.
Iron Panel Inputs
Functional optimal ferritin targets vary significantly by life stage. Select the population first, then enter the lab values.
Functional optimal ferritin: 50-150 ng/mL. Below 30 ng/mL is true deficiency. Anemia threshold (Hgb): < 12 g/dL.
Most important marker. Acute phase reactant: can be falsely elevated with inflammation.
Late marker. Drops only after stores are depleted.
Diurnal variation: highest morning. Standard range 60-170.
Elevated TIBC suggests deficiency. Standard range 250-450.
Auto-calculates from iron / TIBC if blank. Optimal 25-45%.
Needed to distinguish anemia of inflammation from true iron deficiency.
